About Me

Once I had a dream...
A dream to move to Austria, a dream to share my mountain passion with other people!

This dream came true in 2013 and is called Bergliebe.
Bergliebe was founded in the autumn of 2013 by a young and dynamic German-Belgian couple, Katja an Diederik.

After a few years, we went separate ways, and in April 2017 I decided to continue the B&B alone. Of course I may not forget to mention my faithful companion dog Schnitzel!Your hostess, Katja

Your hostess, Katja, has build up more than 15 years of international experience in hospitality. Born in Borna, near Leipzig, she has studied for maître d'hôtel in the Black Forest. She has worked for many renomated hotels, like hotel Post in Lech am Arlberg, and the famous cruise liner MS Deutschland. Furthermore she was working on a river boat on the Danube, and different hotels in Austria, England, and a 2 years stay in Belgium - in beautiful Antwerp.

My house is located in the beautiful and peaceful village Filzmoos (Neuberg), 4 km from the center, approximately 1,000 meters above sea level. Thanks to its altitude and location at the Dachstein, Filzmoos is one of the most snow sure winter sports regions in the province of Salzburg.

Skiing fun starts as soon as you set foot in front of the pension, with the Geierberglift at only 5 minutes walking distance. Filzmoos is part of the ski region Ski Amadé. The ski pass gives you access to more than 270 lifts and over 760 kilometers of slopes.

Filzmoos also offers numerous possibilities for ski touring, cross-country skiing and winter hiking. An event that you may not miss is the yearly international balloon festival in January!

In spring, summer and autumn, it is the ideal starting point for hikes, mountain biking, cycling, climbing and for mountain enthusiasts, thanks to its unique location close to the Bischofsmütze (2,458 m) and the Dachstein (2,995 m).

Book now, and take advantage of the guided walks from Filzmoos Aktiv, the free hiking bus, and new since summer 2017: our Almcard!

See you soon, in Filzmoos!
